Meet the Authors

 

Ray Straub (“Empty Tomb: Blessed Beginning,” p. 4) of Oregon spoke some of the thoughts in his article at a funeral tribute to Albert Fischer, his South Dakota cousin who died December 28, 2009.

Donna A. Tallman (“Stories of Scars,” p. 8) has served as a youth advisor, conference speaker, curriculum consultant, women’s ministry coordinator, home school support group coordinator, radio talk show co-host, and a media production assistant. She has written numerous articles for such publications as The Teaching Home, CHEA Pen, Home Life, and The Lookout. Donna has also published two books: Battlefields and Blessings:  Stories of Faith and Courage from the War in Iraq and Afghanistan and Destined For Excellence. Her first script, Innocent’s Lost, was a five-time quarter-finalist in several international screenwriting competitions. Donna lives in Lake Oswego, OR.

Calvin Burrell (“Grace: Encounter With the Word,” p. 12) is editor of the Bible Advocate magazine and president of the North American Ministerial Council. He lives in Denver, CO.

Barb Eldred (“The Too-Hard Box,” p. 14) is a married mother of two (with two granddaughters) who worships with Fellowship in God every Sabbath in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

Lanita Bradley Boyd (“What Was I Supposed to Be?” p. 17) has been published in 21 compilation books and numerous periodicals. Some books containing her stories arethe God Allows U-Turns series, Chicken Soup for the Shopper’s Soul (ironic, since she is not a shopper), God’s Way for Couples/Graduates/ Teachers, and the Rocking Chair Reader series. Her stories or devotionals have appeared in Christian Woman, The Quiet Hour, Teaching K-8, Parent Life, Power for Today, and The Lookout. Lanita is co-author of Writing, Step by Step, Grade 3 (1985), and ATTENTION! The Art of Holding Your Audience in the Palm of Your Hand (2009). She lives in Fort Thomas, KY.

Robert Coulter (“God’s Triumph,” p. 18) and his wife, Ida, reside and attend church in the Denver, CO, area.

Sarah Leteta (“When Few Become Many,” p. 21) attends the Parkland CoG7 near Edmonton, Alberta.

Lorraine Marwood (poem, p. 25) has a chapbook of poems published with Five Islands Press, two collections of poems for children, and two verse novels with Walker, Australia. Her poems have been widely published in literary journals. She loves to teach poetry workshops and writes strategies for teachers to encourage children to write poetry. Her next collection of poems is due this year and will be a farm-based collection. Lorraine lives in Victoria, Australia.
